Setting up charcoal filter system

Hello, new here and am anxious for a few tips on setting up the charcoal filter.
the one I have purchased is the CAN-FILTER 2600 100/4in and a
4" RVK100 A1 175m3/hour. extractor fan. I have the necessary ducting also.

I have just been to install it all and I have noticed that there is only a flange on one end of the charcoal filter, the other end has a black plate with holes in it. How do I actually ( and the proper way) fit it all together. I can see I can atatch the fan to the filter by using the flange and some ducting but what happens at the end where the holes are, doesn't seem possible to atatch any 4 inch ducting to it to send the air outside of my room.

Hope I have made myself clear enough and await some help.

Thanks

DaveM

Aha, have searched a few sites and realise that the fan is connected directly to the filter and then the ducting goes on the back end of the fan. So the air is actually sucked through the filter not through the fan then the filter.

well, hope I am right :)

Hello, well I have finally installed my charcoal filter and new fan, and I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to let me know if I have got it set up correctly.
I am a little concerned as I tried smoking a ciggie in the room and blowing smoke towards the filter and it didn't seem to be sucked out.
I remeoved the ducting to the rear of the fan and it sure was sucking air out, maybe I am just a little over concerned.
Have attatched this pic.

Thanks

Does the white foamy cover have to be in place as it shows in my pic, or do I remove that ???

getting paranoid now incase I am putting the extractor under duress :(

looks good but remember the more bends you have in your ducting the slower your air is going to pull through... so you might just want to try and straighten things out a little more for efficiency

thanks bamm bamm, I may even move the filter directly inline with the fan, it just about fits along side of it.

Anytime, Yeah I think that would help you out alot actually=) Remember there's really no way RIGHT way to do it whatever works works theres sometimes slightly better ways though=)

Man I'm always changing things from how I have them, to increase efficiency

Het Bamm Bamm, as you know this is my first time grow using the filter and this rvk fan, is this set up still ample enough to remove the heat from my room, I have a 4in fan pulling air in from the bottom of the room also ?

cheers

what size light are you using? It should be fine I might have to add a seperate filter like yours soons... Depending on the size of your lgiht you may need to add a seperate exhaust for that.. Check out my journal below for how I have mine setup presently...

I am using a 600, have a oscillating fan. Maybe Iam just being a little over cautious as I can only see that the filter actually hinders the air flow. But then again, all I have been using for the last few years is a 4inch inline extractor so the bigger fan must compensate for that :)

Hello buster, I am growing 4 Hindu Kush and 1 unknown plant, I have been growing Hindu Kush for some years now as I find the medicinal qualities perfect for my arthritis.
I am thinking of a change now as I am not getting very good yields from my Kush, although the quality is fantastic.

ps maybe I am thick but still can't get the thumbnails to work :)

I do have a couple more pics in my gallery though :)

That white foam around your filter is called PRE-FIlter and yes keep it in place. It will make your charcoal last longer. Nice setup!
You set it up perfectly.
