Setting up a grow room

Hi everyone. So today I obtained my medical marijuana card and can grow legally now (According to the state of California). The county I live in allows me to grow no more than 30 plants at a time. I just purchased a house today. 2000 SQ feet. 2 story. 4 bedroom. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms. 1 question is should i use the entire upstairs for growing or should I use the two car garage. (I'm sure inside the house would be a cleaner environment but I would love to use the garage and have the house for myself). This will be my first time growing ever so all advice will help. I would like to grow close to 30 plants at a time. I have about $5,000 to spend on a grow room.

Uhhh....Sounds like you have the money to throw at it. That is certainly a comfort. I must say though, learn to grow 3 or 4 plants at a time. Work your way up as you gain experience. If you spend 5k on a grow room to grow 30 plants, that I am sure is not an easy task for a first grow. Start with the basics and work your way up to where you can handle many plants. Research this forum enough, and you will see how many people have problems growing 2 plants. Just start slow is what I can suggest and just each time add a few more plants and more equipment as you become more experienced.

hell no go for it man just groe 30...It isn't brain science growin weed is easy. get a book on it or read the grow faq. Id get like 4 1000 watts and something to cool em down with and ur good

I have a friend that grows in large quantities and he will be helping me set up this week. I just want to get as much knowledge as possbile so that I dont seem that stupid while hes helping me. Can anyone recomend the best book on the web for growing marijuana indoors ar setting up a killer grow room. Also what do you think. Upstairs of the house, or the garage.

go on youtube and type in growing marijuana...theres a few step by step videos on how to set up grow rooms and there nice ones too

If you have help on hand then great. For most people this does not work, simply because there is alot of people that cant grow 2 plants at a time. Just take it easy and go slow regardless of how many plants you start with. Learning how the plants grow is foremost, then experiment with it. Just do your research and get what you need before you germ the first seed. Have it all ready.

UPSTAIRS.................you ave the whole attic space...your "tall" areas can be your bloom rooms, and ALLL of that other space can be cloning/veg rooms and or areas, GAWD I wish I had the space/room you have!!!!!!!!!!!

I've known a few people that have had killer attic grow rooms.
You lucky guy. 30 plants and its all legit.
I am trying to get my mm card. I have gone to my GP who is proving to be useless:-?, made an app't with a specialist and it got cancelled and rescheduled. I really do want my license also.(mainly to keep hubby safe if anything were to happen)

Listen to what everyone here is saying. I personally wouldn't start with 30 plants. That would be insane if you have never grown them before.
Its not rocket science but it does take some knowledge.

Yes start a grow journal. In fact, you might want to take a look at some people here that have grow journals.

good luck and shows us some pics when you get it running.

What are the messurements of the different areas that you want to grow in. Are you going soil or hydro? You are going to need to split the area for your vegging/cloning - flowering rooms.

I would look at the two different areas and find out what one gives you an advantage, out way the pros and cons.

Do you have carpet or other. You will need to think about the total enviroment and safty is going to be a must.

Your electric bill is going to be an factor, lights, air intake/exhaust, co2 output, odor control ect.

I plan to do a couple weeks of research. I will take pictures of the indsides of the house within the next couple days to give you all an idea of what I am working with. How I go my medical marijuana card. I broke my arm at the elbow area about a year ago and it didnt heal right. I cannot fully straighten my arm all the way. Sometimes it pops and it get a tingle feeling from the wrist up. Reason was chronic pain

Can't wait to see what comes of this. If I were you I would probably use the garage, most likely you will have better access to power circuits since the breaker box is probably in the garage. Also a concrete floor is better for making a mess on and cooling will be easier in a downstairs garage than an upstairs bedroom, especially in the summer.

what i replied with was: for SoG grow you are setting it up just fine. i use a 1000w cause i grow just a few big plants and need the light penetration.

with a fellow grower helping you set up you should not have a problem growing,if you can grow one you can grow 2 ect.so i see no reason why with this forum and your friend that you can not grow 30.use 2 1000 would be perfect growing to 14" before flowering in 5gal pots,and presto 3-4 pounds.

i agree with RKM, iv learnt first hand with this, you do need to know what your doin, even down to the ph of mix of your feed, if its to accidic mate you will burn your babies roots n kill it off, you need to know what your doin before you jump straight in,

i started with 12, n went straight up to 106, now that was a task i can tell you that, so you may want to rethink what you have said, because unless you have had a proper grow you wont realise what it takes ton keep it spot on.
