Setting timer question.

Hi all. I am setting up my growroom and had a question with a timer im going to be buying.
I would be using two surge protectors for plug sockets and 5 lamp sockets with 1 power cord for lighting. I was wondering if this would work for me.

I have 1 extention power that i would plug the TIMER into, than ill plug a surge protector into the TIMER input and put all light source cords into the surge thats directly connected to the TIMER.

So if i set the timer up would everything that is connected to the surge protector that is c onnected to the timer power shut on/off accordingly?

So ill be connecting two surge protector with plug sockets and one power cord into the surge thats coming directly out of the timer.

Any input would be nice. Thanks!

yes it should work, but becarefull not to go over the allowed amperage of your timer. youll start a fire if you do.
