Serious Seeds AK47 Trichome Pix - Is It Ready For Harvest?

Here are some trichome pix of my Serious Seeds AK47 plants. They are currently on day 58 of flowering. The breeder says the normal flowering time is between 49 and 63 days.

The first pic is of a leaf at the top of a huge bud, and the second pic was taken from the bud itself.

The leaf pic seems to have a lot of amber trichomes, but the bud pic doesn't have many at all.

I'm not sure if leaf trichomes even matter. Do they?

I want more of a body stone than couchlock. This would seem to suggest harvesting with few amber trichomes.

Could my plant be ready for harvest now?

The Serious Seeds ak's aren't really a couch lock strain at all, but in general, the more red you let them get, the heavier the buzz. I typically pull most strains with around 20% amber tricomes.

The first pic seems like there is quite a bit of red, but the second I only see a few. Either way, you're real close. Enjoy! Its a nice strain. I have a buddy on here who grows some great nugs of these ak's.

i agree with bowl, go with 20% amber. you can harvest selectively, as different buds ripen quicker than others...
