Sensi-zym causing brown stuff in my rez?

So I tried some Sensi-zym this time around. It's my 3rd indoor grow using DWC. The first two I used just Sensi-grow/bloom with no other additives. Had no problems, everything stayed pretty clean. On this grow the only thing that has changed is the addition of S-zym. Now there is a brown residue lining the walls of the rez. Doesn't seem to be causing any problems with PH/EC so I'm wondering if this is normal or not?

Ive read that hygrozyme does the same thing. Personally, I tried enzymes and always had foliage problems. Ive heard in DWC, the rez will brown after most enzyme applications. Give it a couple dayz and it supposed to clear up.

thx for your reply...I didn't mix as strong as suggested, around 1.5ml/L vs the suggested 5ml/L. Is this a bad idea?

Leachatte from composted chicken manure. And you added that to a chemical nutrient reservoir?? Congratulations, your nutrient reservoir is now becoming an aerated sewage lagoon. IMHO It is usually better if you stick with either chemical or organic rather than mixing the two. Everything the plants need to uptake the chemical fertilizers other than oxygen and water is suplied by the chemical nutrient mix. As far as the break down of dead roots? You want to remove them not break them down to have them feed bacteria. The point with a chemical nutrient systems is to keep the system free of bacteria and enzymes not supply them or feed them. With a chemical system if you have a root problem or wish to prevent a root problem you use chlorine or hydrogen peroxide. Enzymes are used with organic systems as you can not use chlorine or H2O2 with organic fertilizers.

I was unsure if mixing organics with chemical nutes was a good idea....was told the enzymes would still help with nute uptake even though using chemical base nutes.

I'm glad I only bought a liter......thx for confirming that for me + rep

hold the phone im so tired of people not knowing what there talking about bro ive been using sensizyme
for the past 3 years in dwc with floranova nutes and have had no problems with browning or anything of that nature
Yes you can use s-zyme with chemical or organic ferts and yes my root zone is very healthy and white the only time ive had problems
with roots browning is when my res temps got to high. Also i keep mothers in dwc and when i have a bit of root rot i use sensi zyme to clean them up
and a few days later roots are white again so please people if you dont know what your talking about please dont comment. if anyone doubds me just check
some of my grows here icmag or on breedbay or thc farmer my work with sensizyme speaks for it self
thank you . and if looking for my posts and pics on other sites i go by medical_breeder

I did the same exact thing! I had one hell of a time getting rid of the root rot. I used very little to no nutes, Hygrozyme, and aquasheild. I have heard the h2o2 works also but you cannot used the products that I mentioned with it. You might need more oxygen if you just started flowering. They need alot more more oxygen when they start flowering.
