It has been about 22.5 hours since the seeds were put into a shot-glass of water. One seed popped at 15 hours, another two at 18 hours. They have all been placed in between a moist paper towel, and awaiting more seeds to pop by the end of the day. I am placing the ones that popped today in soil around 4PM to get them started.

White Widow
She is 15 days old since sprouting...shooting up very fast and getting very bushy. She initially stretched at first because I had the light so far away, since then I have kept the cool-tube between 3 - 6 inches away. Very short inter-node stretch...very bushy overall. It looks like she is going to be Indica dominant.

Enviroment
The room temperatures are staying at a good range...even after it being 100+ degrees outside. I have already placed the cups with soil in the room and they are ready for seeds. I am going to keep them in 16oz cups for about one/two weeks, then transplanting them to larger pots. I decided against going to 3-gallon pots directly simply because it will require a lot of maintenance to water all of them by hand...but will transplant to 3-gallon pots as soon as they are ready for LST.

Questions/Comments Recieved
Thanks for all the comments! My wife and I are very excited about growing our first Sativa-dominant strain. We took a while to decide on a strain, but we could not resist all the praises that Jack Herer receives. Although the price for the seeds are kind of steep, we believe that it is 100% worth it since we are getting very good genetics (F1 Hybrids). I am going to look into keeping some cuttings, but not sure as of yet.

I have included pictures of the grow area and a top shot of the White Widow.

5/10 popped and were placed into soil today. Other seeds look like they are starting to crack.

White Widow
Still growing strong, very short inter-node distance and very bushy.

Updates as soon as they sprout...

9/10 seeds cracked within 48 hours. All 9 are in 16-oz cups planted 1/2 inch below the soil. The last seed doesn't seem to want to crack, but I will keep an eye on her.

White Widow - Day 17 from sprout
Still growing strong, very short inter-node distance and very bushy. More pics below. She looks yellow because of my camera flash/settings.

Good news. Jack #1, #3, and #6 have cracked the soil within 48-hours. I am still waiting on #2, #4, #5, #7, #8, and #9. I have the cooltube about 13 inches from the top of the seedlings until they grow a bit more, then I am going to lower it about 5 inches so they will not stretch.

5/9 have broken soil and are now officially seedlings. I'm pretty confident that the rest will shoot up any time now.

White Widow
Unfortunately the White Widow didn't make it. She was an accidental cross from two GHS WW plants...she was growing very well until she stopped growing and started deforming/dying. I do not want to keep anything that might die or hermie later on in the grow.

Not to worry..I just put a Dinafem Power Kush into germination. Anyone ever grow this? It was one of the free seeds I got with my order. Can't wait!

I have pulled up a chair! I have promised myself to grow some Jack Herer once I get up and running a little better. First year here, ww and og kush till I get the knack enough to go Herer! You are one lucky man, man, lol, I have the pic of the seeds in the breeder pack as my desktop. I would have gone with sensi too. They seem to be legit. Good luck. Ocean forest will serve you well!

Day 2 since sprout

Well, one seedling didn't make it...it looked very weak and died, so now I have a total of 8 in soil. It's bitter sweet because I only plan on growing 3 - 4 females with my 400 watt and I wasn't expecting all of them to survive. There is another seedling that also looks weak in the soil...i'll see how she does.

: I love WW...I harvested her a few months ago...excellent smoke. I have a journal of it here: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/146541-first-time-green-house-ww.html

dbo24242: I have plenty of room to let them grow vertically, but I am going to LST them. Right now I have my 400w MH about 10 inches from the tops of the seedlings, and I am going to lower them to about 3-5 inches once I hit veg. When they start getting bushier, I am going to raise the light up more so that I can distribute the light more efficiently. My cool tube allows me to lower the light up to one inch from the tops and it does not get hot at all.

Alli
: Thanks...I hope they will :joint:

Here is a group shot of baby Jacks.

Oh I was just saying concerned w/ the figure because it says 150 SQUARE feet not cubic feet, but yeah that is lots of vertical space.

Cooltubes kick ass :)
