Selling To Clinics, Cooperatives In CA

Hey, I'm a newb on the forum but I've been lurking for a bit. I'm a legit medical user and grower in CA who has more buds than I can use myself (not a lot, I don't have a commercial size grow). How do I go about selling the excess to legit sources, within the letter of the law? Does anyone know if its kosher just to walk into a clinic and ask if they want to buy a lb.? What would be a reasonable price? I don't want to make a fool of myself and/or get ripped off.

the dispensary's are very picky sometimes they want indoor, sometimes out door grown, manicured and cured to excellence and then they wanna give you scwag prices. bring a sample with you, so you dont have to dig into the pound while you are there. but i would sell to my friends for reasonable prices .
compassion my ass, they are there to make money off of you and i , dont fool yourself on that compassion bs, the mayor of sac has interest in some of the local dispensary's in sac, as soon as he was elected mayor he slammed a moratorium on new dispenarys . compassion for the almighty money, sad but true

Humble opinion follows:
To deal with dispensaries/collectives, I suggest signing on/up with a few of them in your area.
Establish a pleasant rep with each; not that you HAVE to purchase at each, but...you know...support a potential client...
Once they figure out that you're not a whacko and they've seen you a few times, ask questions of the bud/clone tenders.
Some will let your questions delve into deeper areas, some will not.
Ask them IF they will reimburse you for your meds; some will, some will not.
If they will, ask how would they like samples presented and when.
Roll from there...

My recent dealings with a local dispensary:
Cool folks, all pleasant.
I've gone there 5-6 times.
Finally got the manager tending the shelves the other day...
If you want to have even a chance at swapping meds, KNOW your grow.
Strain, indoor/outdoor, nutes, length of grow, etc. Be prepared to discuss.
No one wants garbage weed.
She laughed out loud when I asked if she'd had to deal with 'one hit wonders':
Dudes that think they have the best grow on the face of the earth (their very first grow...) that commands high dollars no questions...
After she sniffed a bag, she asked about how long they dried for? blank stares...didn't know what 'cure' meant...

Will you get what you think it's worth? NOOOO idea...good luck!

This particular crew is still dishing out stuff from the outdoor flood this year, and have an indoor grower or two on board.
I'm hoping for pleasant future dealings with these folks; we shall see!

Im not sure about ALL of CA but in the SF bay area all you have to do is go into a co-op (im pretty sure you need to be a member) and ask what there vending procedures are to see if they have a big time supplier or if they stock from there patients

I suffer from a serious case of neuropathy which in my case is a complication of previously undiagnosed diabetes caused by pancreatic damages suffered when hit by a car walking across the street in downtown Austin back in 2002. (The driver made a right turn on a red light while talking on a cell phone and BLAM).

This malady is specifically listed in new mexico and i believe in most of the 12 exceptional states.

The medical matrix treatment approach prescribed receptor agonists for the pain (gabapentin in progressively larger doses followed by pregabalin and then tramadol in combinations with amitriptylin leading to oxycodone and ms contin now in combination with baclofen).

Among the myriad of side effects (loss of hearing; changes in thought patterns; cramps; loss of balance; difficulty walking; severe constipation; etc) the somnulence causes a "wasting cycle" due to nearly round the clock sleeping.

I have recently been adjudicated with compensatory disability by the social security administration and following a 5 year legal ordeal anticipate renumeration by June of this year.

About a year ago an old friend here in Texas began sending me a little weed. As God is my witness I function better; am happier; generally feel better and find myself trying to fight back to regain a semblance of former very active life. I would actually prefer access to Sativix (Canada rx - oil) as there are negative health impacts from smoking as well as convenience (no need of pre-loading per se).

Problem is that my friend got busted and given the threat of losing visitation priviledges with his kids (divorcee) there is no way I can ask him in furtherance.

I do not know of anyone else who might help and was generally wondering whom or where I might turn to for very small quantities (typically 1/2oz every 30-45 days) of "gitty-up-and-go" in good faith. i would be happy to provide evidentary documentation with preaddressed return express to any dispensary which might be able to help.

budginner get your own thread and you may actually get replies...

turniphead - just ask if they are looking for vendors... ive done many times... they usually ask for your price as in make me an offer...watch out for shops that hustle on cosignment... you just dont know these days who may get raided make sure the shop is legit many pretenders out there. reasonable price?? that depends on opinion of course but remember most shops are dealing with COMMERCIAL prices not top dollar by any means. a good way to judge this is to look at the prices you see in the shop you want to vend... if you see bunk weed and cheap prices dont expect high dollar but most shops wanna do 3000-4000 a lb. also about the shops prices...if you see ozs going for example 350 (about the going rate in so cal for top shelf buds) dont expect to get 300 or even 250 having a store front and paying taxes really does take its toll on top of the fear of getting raided even if you are following the rules... this agian all depends on how you grow urs too and how experienced you are. good luck. last word of advice in stead of drving around use weedtracker and ask the shops directly what their vending situation is before you take samples and all that maybe easier even if you already go to this shop.

Just like the other posts stated most dispensaries are really only interested in good indoor, a smart owner will recognize quality meds whether its indoor/outdoor and compensate on the lower side of the appropriate amount. Bottom line if you got some premium herb, regardless of origin, and provide them with the genetic background and conditions they're gonna be interested. Ive found that So. Cal is particularly interested in kush strains, mainly if you can kick out some quality OG your not gonna have any problems finding a taker, 3-4k is what you should get for good quality indoor, good outdoor more like 1800-2500, but its all about quality. All good advice above, you can kinda guage the situation by looking at prices and quality they carry and its always better to go there a few times and warm up to them a bit and ask if they be interested in looking at a sample. You gotta be realistic about what you got, what they're looking for and whats fair or ripoff in both directions. Best advice my buddy told me was to start trying to master the OG and most clubs will eat it up, especially the farther south you go in california. Now Im far from mastering anything, but still Ive found OG, Chemdawg, bubba and most quality kushes are easy to set up. If your going to do any consignments, its better off to start with smaller amounts (qp-hp) to see how it goes rather than tying up larger amounts, not always the best idea unless your familiar with the club. Its a little tricky, especially with new places, Ive only done it a handful of times, but my good buddy is all about it and actually good at it. I would like to hear more helpful tips or experiences people have had, but not alot of people talk about it and rightfully so.

just expand the shit out of your "smoking social circle".
the karma you reap will far more lucrative than any $$$ the disp. will offer.

so you want to start supplying clinics with meds i have been doing this for the last 3 years or so and let me tell you that it is not as glamorous as it may seem and depending on how muc effort you make into doing it will greatly determine the cost of your goods and overall how much money you can make it also depends on yourresources i recomend you start by just coming around you know go by the clinics talk to people develop your cred with them maybe even make donations towards the medicine whatever you do u must first develop a relationship with thema good one then try to offer samples see if the take them maybe offer to smoke with them some time etc hopefully all goes well and they except maybe you can work out some sort of deal for your meds and if alll goes well on both end it may be consistent sounds easy but trust me this all takes time and there are many other factors involved i will not go into detail beyond that but i can recomend a few things to have some sort of smarts be able to speak well and the more you do it the longer better you rep becomes and the easier it is for you but if you just got small quantites id hook up my homes youll end up makeing more that way but either way good luck

Do the dispensaries here in Cali usually pay you in cash or check? Also can they tell if you are a caregiver or just a regular by running your info? And do you have to claim the money on your taxes???
