Self Watering Pots?

Hey, a few months back I saw these self watering pots where you have a pot that sits in another pot at lowes. I didn't see any way for the water to get into soil but I guess maybe the pot's material absorbs the water through it? You fill up the pot underneath and set the pot in this?

Would this work for our leafy friends under these circumstances? I'm not going to do it but I haven't found any discussion on this in case it is something to consider in the future.

yes they work, indoors and outdoors, the pot that ur plant sits in is made of a pores clay. i used one a while back and just sat it outside in the summer and she thrived...of course someone ended up stealing the top pot. but it does water as the plant drinks. although i believe pot plants dont like having to "suck" there water up from below them so keep that in mind. there are also things called water bulbs that you fill with water and stick in the pot and as the soil get dry air goes into the bulb and allow water to flow out as needed. take ur choice, and good luck.:leaf:
