I use lux readers with extreme success.
Up too 10000 lux for seedings. If it looks stressed take down to 7000

Cheap PAR meter AND accurate!!!
Full disclosure here... I do not own this app. I just figured why not share what I found. I was looking online to actually buy a light meter and seen the prices.... so being the tight wad that I am I searched for bargains.. I found an App in the apple store that reads lux and the basic hoo-ha...

Yeah it's really nice and seems accurate according to people that tested it against legit par meters.

I went and paid for the LED par meter add on for 5 bucks. Pretty nifty app.

Do you need to pay for the LED portion or do you think the ones offered for free would be good enough. I know they are designed for different lighting sources, but $7 is $7

I tried it with different light spectrums and it gives different readings. As in select cmh 4200 and put it under led gives a different reading than led under led.

My 315 CMH at around 3 or 4 feet putting out 300ppfd. Wonder if that's too much for a month old plant.

My 650’s at home put out 600 too 800 PPFD at 45% and about 30” away

I have a T5 fixture with 4 6500k bulbs. I'll test it with the app see if it's less powerful than the 315cmh.
