I've germ'd a lot of seeds over the years and don't find much difference between them as long as they are fresh and stored well. Even seeds that started fresh, and then were stored perfectly in the fridge with dessicant for ten years still pop pretty easy if you dial in your germination environment. There is a lot of bad info about germination out there, here is a good guide https://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide. The basics are skip paper towel, plant see direct to media (or rapid rooter), keep moist not wet, keep warm 24/7 (80 deg is perfect), keep a mild light above them 24/7. Good luck to you!

Agree on all points. I haven't noticed any difference between regular, fem or auto seeds in terms of germination time. I also always start in soil.
