Hi I am not a newbie to growing, but am new to using seeds. I started 12 various bag seeds about 5 weeks ago and they are all growing well. I plan on keeping the female pants i end up with as mothers, however What i would like to know is how would it be best to sex them? Should i put them to 12 hours light and revert back when they are sexed? Or would it be best to clone off of each and see what the clones turn out to be? Any thoughts?

Plant the seedlings and veg them for a week and then put into 12/12..
When the sex appears you can revert them back to 20/4..18/6.. whichever.
I think its better to do it that way instead of cutting clones off.

This guys wrong, just leave your plants in veg, cut clones and flower them. Its less sress than swiching them back and fourth, from veg to flower.

i use uncle bens topping method and flower the cut growth to determine sex. i also don't understand why someone would want to preflower and reveg a mother if it can be easily avoid.

I kinda figured that using a cutting would be the best method. Just wanted to be sure.

Using uncle bens topping method, you use the whole top as new cutting?

Yes this is exactly what i did used the cut top and cloned it, but i had already bought fem'd seeds to use for this so i didnt have to worry too much about sex.

Below is a pic of the top that i cloned and before i placed it into flowering and in the flowering closet.

First pic is of the plant rooted in coco pellet.

then the next pic it is the smallest one in the airpot.

the next pic is of it is the 1 on the left at the back

Then the next pic it is at the front on the left transplanted into a 3litre airpot in the flowering closet.
