Seeds showing sex 12/12 in water cloner?

In my experience if you try to force the plant to show sex before it’s rooted it will most likely Hermie due to stress and when I say most likely I mean 100% of the time in the five or six times that I’ve tried it personally,,

I was thinking of trying this exact thing. But it does take 6 or so weeks to get big enough for cuttings? Then 10 or so days to root right? Then 12/12 for another 7 to 10, that's 9 weeks give or take. After much thought it's the same amount of time as just keeping them in veg until they mature enough to show. At the end I'm just deciding to keep it simple and see them as they mature. I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.

Has anyone ever taken cuts from seeds, put them in water/spray cloner and placed that device on a 12/12 light schedule?
Would this show sex before roots ever touch dirt?
Yes but it will take more time to properly reveg that clone again.
If your goal is sexing plants fast you can put cuts of each seedling into water, go to 12/12 and then see sex in those cuts. But just to correspond to the seedling that’s still vegging nicely. Then you know what are males and females a couple weeks early at best… at worst nothing happens and your seedlings show Sex anyway before, or at same time as clones…

or kinda how I do it is take clones of everything, say 12 plants. Flip the actually donor mother plants to 12/12. Ok then 1,4,5,7,8, 12 are female, 2,3,6,9,10,11 are male.

edit: also plants clone better with 24 hour light and less swing in temperature. Rooting clones under 12/12 will prolong the process

Go ahead cull males, seedlings and cuts both…

Continue to root female clones and flower those out.

It take maybe 3 weeks or so to be able to take a couple clones from a seedling. Start clones then and put seedlings into flower.
Seedling should show sex within a week or two, so now at 5 weeks from getting wet.

clones also root in week or two so theoretically rooted clones are ready for cups the same time as you find sex out.

so far ou can find your females closer to 5-6 weeks instead of more normal 6-8 weeks.

a lot of work for two weeks but worth it for me cause I only flower clones, try to keep plants as small as possible cause that’s what works for my space. If you grow big plants with long veg times probably not worth it IMO. But if you like to flower clones fast with like 7-14 days veg time than it’s definitely worth it

That is correct.. when the seeds grow for a month of so, i was planning on taking cuttings and then putting the water cloner into 12/12. But thank you island.genetics for saying they will hermie.
I will just go the normal route. Thank u community

I've not heard of any problems before using a shoot to determine sex while letting the donor plant grow on without interruptions.
I've used that method a handful of times without any problems, I've flipped a ton seedlings at 5/15 days old without any hermies.
