Seeds grew into paper towel while germinating and need assistance plz

Hey all, so I was germinating 5 WW seeds and after soaking them for 20 hours or so, I used the paper towel method to germinate them. Well today was 3 days and I went to check them and all 5 actually grew completely out of their shell and on a couple of them the taproot started growing into the paper towel and had their Cotyledon leaves so I sprayed the root with water and was able to pull it out with damaging it. My question is will they be ok and grow? I mean the taproot on a few of them was 3-4 inches long. I planted them in Solo cups using Espoma Organic soil and since most of them started their leaves, I put them under a LED light at about 3 feet or so. I'd appreciate you're input and sry for long post. Thanks all!!

As long as you planted them with the leaves out of the soil and they're under some light, that's all you can do for now. You'll find out tomorrow.
Chances are good though, they can handle some fairly rough handling, not that you should.
Now you know not to leave them that long without checking, or plant them straight in a pot after the soak, especially if you know those particular beans are good.

Precisely why I DON"T use paper towels. The tuny roothairs are likely ripped off when attempting to remove. You could simply cut around the paper and plant, OR...

Just soak in a very mild grow solution, or a few grains of Kelp until tap root pops out, or simply place soaked seeds in the starter cube.

This is the 1st time they germinated like this, the 1st 5 I did only 2 germinated, the 5 after that the taproot was only about 1/4 inch after 3 days not 3-4 inches like these lol.

Mick....I just had a 0 percent germination in rapid rooters (5 seeds, 2 different strains). Can you share how you use them? Presoak seeds?? Presoak rapid rooters?? Any tips?

Oh, and I think the OPs seeds will be fine.
I never soak the seeds.
I soak the rooters in purified water with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes.
Squeeze out the excess.
Place the seed in the hole.
Tear off a small piece of rooter and place over the hole.
Stick in a drawer.....and in 3-4 days they will sprout.
I have nearly 100% sprout rate......for over 20 years.

10 for 10 last time in 4 days.

OP, give them a day or 2, then get that light closer. #1Best method for germination is straight into medium no soak no paper towel, scarify them if they are old. (I do not use this method myself, though) Key is getting used to keeping the moisture level right at the seed while she (hopefully) swells and does what seeds do. The paper towel/ cup soak/ rapid rooter ideas and methods are there to help overcome the growers inability to keep the soil/medium just right. Not a shot at us (As I am still mainly a paper towel guy, myself) but the pre=planting practices help keep the seeds in the right moisture zone without say having to mist your soil starter cups every 3 hrs, Same for humidity domes ,plastic etc. they all have their place helping us with the cannabis plant/human interface. Ma nature has developed the easy way for millenia, we on the other hand can find infinite ways to fuck up anything. Pick what suits you and stick with it ALL the methods work, if done right.

yes, but it's easy to over soak at the seedling stage. Hand water (just a few drops maybe 2-3xs/day) with an eye dropper until roots exit the cube and first leafs are established

IDK why you are giving advice on growing anything.

Show these people what the plants you are growing look like.

I see you're still an asshole. Some people never change, but sure

Stop giving grow advice until you get a handle on it yourself.

Wouldn't want anyone following your instructions, unless they want their plants to look like yours (not very healthy).

Oh dear Guru, if you know so much, then why weren't you able to figure out what I WAS doing wrong? I did

here's my unasked for tip, flip the rapid rooters over. The pre-cut hole on all the ones I've used are too large and don't maintain good contact with seeds. Instead, use the uncut base and poke it with a skewer/sharp knife and make a small hole just large enough for your seed. Push them in pointy side down and the root will always go straight down. I use papertowels just to verify germination but you have to be very quick and transplant as soon as they crack.

I presoak whatever brand plugs in ph'd water with a few drops of superthrive and kelp, then squeeze em out and place under dome. Once seeds have broken the surface remove the dome. I do not soak my seeds.
