OK, I just started my first indoor grow, here is a rundown of what I have

Glowlab GL80 grow tent
400W MH/HPS light
Fox Farms Ocean Soil
3 Gallon Pots (total of 4)
Venting fans, ect, ect ect

I have sprouted 4 Barneys Farm LSD (Fem) I have them in starter cups (foxfarm ocean soil) with a humidity dome over them...inside the grow tent, I have been keping the temps inside the dome at about 87-88 and the RH at 56%-58% with a light cycle of 18/6. I am wondering how long I should keep them in the dome, before transplanting them into the 3 gallon pots and going full on Veg growth. They still have thier seedling leaves, but r starting to grow the real leaves now.
seedling r now 3 days old, 6 days from seed

Thanks: StlMatt

i think u will be ok releasing the dome now... if they have a set of leaves u might as well get them used to the MH light.. i would wait til there is a solid root structure to transplant.. i transplanted about 12-14 days after sprout.. if they look green and healthy and have a few sets of leaves, go ahead and transplant, good luck bro

OK, Thanks
I have two seedlings that have just started to produce thier first real leaves, I would assume in a few days all for of them will have leaves. Once that happens I will remove the dome.

At this stage I assume I need to keep the light a good ways aways (3feet) as I dont want to burn them up.......am I correct in this assumsion?????

any and all advice welcome

The quicker you get them into their permanent pots the better. Plants determine their size when their roots bottom out in their container and the main taproot grows real quick. Wait too long and they can become stunted. Also, make sure all your containers, even the cups the seedlings went into, have holes punched around the bottom for air circulation.

Good luck, BigSteve.

3 feet seems a lil too far, the seedlings are used the sunlight which is wayyy more powerful than a 400w lol.. i would say start the light about 18" away for the first few days and gradually lower it day by day.. finally getting as close as possible without burning.. with my 250w i can have it 8" over the tops with good ventilation without burning.. for a 400w, 12" would prob be ideal.. basically put ur hand under the light, if it burns u it can burn the plants, with that said get it as close as possible without burning..

just a heads up... in flower they will stretch so keep and eye on the light and heat issue with your hand..u will have to adjust the light height many times the first couple weeks of flower..

good luck!!
