I planted 25 seeds on Monday and 20 have popped the surface so far. They are planted in 12 oz plastic cups with a nail sized hole in the bottom in a coco/perlite mix.
I am leaving town tomorrow evening around 5 and wont be back until Sunday night. So, they are going to be left alone for about 48-52 hours. Right now they are evenly watered with about a 1/4 inch of water sitting in the tray for them to soak up. They are under a light consisting of 6 Tbulbs (dont recall the wattage). My question is how I should handle the water while I am gone. I am trying to avoid watering them directly but dont want to put too much water in the try in fear of overwatering. I spent a lot of money on these seeds so I dont want them to go to waste. Anyone have any advice on how to handle the water before I leave tomorrow?
I was thinking about watering with a syringe so they are full of water and then putting like a 1/2 inch of water in the try so it can soak it up as needed. I know how delicate seedlings are though. Any suggestions?
