Seedlings Hatched Now Question

So far 9 out of 10 seeds from Attitude order and 9 have germinated already. Question, I have the seedlings in rapid rooter and have them under t-5 fluro's with a cool bulb and a warm bulb. Can the light be as close as two inches for seedlings that are just rooting?

Thanks.

You can place 2" if you got some sort of airflow like a fan or something pointed not directly on the seedlings but so that the little bit of heat emitted by the T5's is dissipated. But if its just the light with no fan i'd keep them 3-4" away

i disagree with the fan and direct air flow will wilt ur babies i say 6' is a perfect hight plus roots grow fastes when they are warm use a heating pad under the tray

closer the better but have a fan blowing across the top of the seedlings this will make the plants far more sturdy has well has allowing you to have the lights closer

It really depends on your setup I guess. Cause right now I have a 4 bulb t5 setup that puts out 10,000 lumens for seedlings. For the first day or two til my seeds sprout as well as the first 5 days or so of life above ground, I only use 2 of the 4 bulbs, since the plants can't process that much light really at such an early stage because they are rooting still. Obviously if you live in a cold environment, heating pad works wonders in speeding up the rooting time. I believe seedlings and clones like around 78-80F for soil temp and 75F or so for air temp. I wasn't trying to say blow a fan directly on the seedlings, but what I do is put my T5 fixture about 3 inches from the top of my seedlings and blow a small clip-on fan directly on my t5 bulbs, which dissipates any heat they put off ---- that way I can keep the bulbs close and my seedlings don't have a ridiculous amount of stretch before the first or second set of true leaves. Then after 4-5 days of life above ground, I go on ahead and turn my other 2 bulbs on for a mixture of 3000k/6000k light
