Seedling Question

I just planted 3 AK-48 and 3 bubblicious fems yesyerday.I ordered a germ kit from nirvana but it seemed it was going to be tricky transplanting that small peat pot so I put the seed in the peat pot,put it in a 16 OZ cup with half light warrior and half ocean forest,then watered and covered.The temp in the tent is 77.9 degrees farenheit,DO I need to use my seedling heat mat or not.?They are under my 400 watt MH but it is about 4 feet above them,hoping they all pop.....how long does it usually take germinating in soil also?Also how much should I water them,I am just keeping the soil pretty moist until they pop is that right

i normally do the paper towel trick but keep the soil moist but not really wet and the heat should help them pop im nt an expert tho im sort ov learning as i go and id give the seed about a week to germinate sum do it within 24hours sum take longer depending on the strain this is all i know tho at the min as im a newbie to all this hope this helped abit tho and goodluck

I tend and works everytime for me, to fill a mug with clean bottled water at room temp.(3/4)
Place seeds in cup and a notebook over the cup and place on top of a cable box.
Seeds will germ 1-3 days eveytime!
(sometimes even earlier)

Hey slostrich,

I think I found three questions in there. Hopefully I dont miss one

1. Do you need a heating mat? I dont use one and my seeds germ and sprout at 70 degrees every time.
2. How long to germ? I agree with jayy's, that's what i usually see. Sometimes longer a few days longer
3. I use 50/50 too and I usually saturate the soil before i plant. But i've also done it in just moist soil. A little moister than fresh ocean forest.
