seed problems... please help!

I've been trying to get my seeds popping, but as soon as the root
appears, the seed dies. either the root wilts, or seems to get cut by something.

damping off seems to be one culprit, maybe my seeds are the source of the fungus.
does anyone have a good/safe way of cleaning seeds?
I was thinking of immersing the seeds in hydrogen peroxide or baking soda,
(and dumping my "miracle grow" potting soil..).

any suggestions?

If your using Miracle Grow potting soil to germinate seeds it can cause problems its got way too much nutrients for a seedling. What I do is soak in water about 12 hours to Pro-mix on heat mats usually get 100% all depends on the pack really I've gotten 100% AK-47 and 0% BC Bud Depot The Purps same run talk about pissed.

I'm 100 percent germinated and popped on my first ever grow doing the following.

Germ seeds using the wet paper towel method. 8 out of 10 seeds germed within 3 days. I lost one seed because I was checking moisture level after drinking 3 bottles of red wine and one seed fell on the floor....I was wrecked!!

I put the remaining 9 seeds in regular garden shop soil *3-2-2* ph6.5 (home depot to my American friends). The 8 germed seeds all popped within 2 days, the remaining seed that didn't germ popped on the 3rd day.

All my seedlings are gaining an inch a day on nothing but indirect sunlight from a window. They all had proper leaves forming on the second day. I don't water them directly. I slightly mist the soil with a sprayer, then heavily mist the plastic box I'm using to propagate them in (daily with warm water). I open the box twice daily to keep humidity at 60ish percent.

Once the first leaves have formed I'll keep them on a 16/8 cycle for a few weeks using a standard tube light. Then they'll be out in the polytunnel.

Ph 6.0-6.5 mist a paper towel completely until it drips just ONCE or TWICE. Place your seeds on the paper towel and fold over or layer towels 2-3. Place in a sandwich bag. Forget about them for a day at least. Don't plant the seed till the root is about a 1/4" and plant root down.

Works for me! Hope this helps

State your method as something is wrong. I go paper towel into MG Seed Starter and have near 100%. Your issue isn't germs.
