Second Grow....Really want input!!

Ok so my first cfl grow started back in february of this year with just one plan and two cfls in a box...Everything went well as far as i knew and before i knew it i was flowering my girl. However she had a stunted growth, I lacked the skill to give her the full attention she needed, but i just chopped her down and i have begun to dry and cure what but i was able to get from her. I have noticed that before i chopped her she didnt smell much like MJ at all unless you got real close.....however after a couple days shey dried right out and now im trying to cure but i swear she smells like cut grass that has sat out in the sun too long...its disgusting! Could this have something to do with my lack of attention or nutrients?? all i gave her was soil and water i never bothered with nutes. I also expierienced some power outtages as well as her getting knocked over a couple times but she seemed to survive...any ideas on this would greatly help me out.

I started germinating a new sativa dominant seed today and hope to see a root in the next day or two. I have slightly upgraded to a total of 4 - 100 W (26W) equivalent cfls for veg. (keep in mind im only doing one plant). I want to know if there are any suggestions from other beginners and experts alike. If you want pictures of my set up i will gladly put them up, just let me know. Thanks.

What seed did you grow?? couldve been cause it was a seed from some mids where the seed originated. I pretty much started the same way.. one seed one plant and just used basic stuff from walmart i.e. miracle gro soil and plant food. other than that just a good watering... its a bubba kush seed from a bubba kush bud, grown under 4 cfls and 2 2ft plant flouros almost close to the day of smokin it, but it smells danky as fuck! heres a pic just to show what is possible with the right seed and bare minium growing materials..

I had a seed I got from online. I have many more but the one I planted was sativa. I have a cabinet im using as of now and im just trying to figure out the exact set up for the lights. So far I have one power strip with 4 cfls. Wanting to put more though.

Sorry for the lack of updates...i was hoping to have already planted again but my germinating seed has not shown its tap root yet. Im using the moist towel in baggy method just like i did on the first grow....any suggestions?

I have no idea what i have done wrong with this one, but my seed that has been germinating since the second....thursday...has not even popped open yet. Not sure if there are any other methods of germination or not but would it be necessary to just toss it and use a different seed? Im gonna try to re-soak a paper towel and place it back in the center and then place it somewhere 'darker' and 'warmer' than it was before and just hope for the best!

grab a shot glass put 1 cap full of hydrogen peroxide in it and like half full of water drop seeds in there till at least a 1 inch tap root like 90% chance may take few days

ill try that for the 'bad seed'....i went a head and began to germinate another seed yesterday and by this evening it was poking out a good length....im gonna plant tomorrow as well as post pics of set up. Hope to keep on getting feedback.

ok planted this morning....hopefully some growth in a couple of days (its hard to wait lol). I was gonna post some pics but for some reason its not uploading them.....so ill have to try back later on.

Is there any other way to add files? I have tried to upload them but it just doesnt work.

As of today....Still waiting on seedling to break soil. Not sure if this has something to do with the heat or just the lighting. It has been very hot in the box lately do to the addition of lights however i have been having troubles with finding a decent fan so the temps get way up their...near and on 100. For this reason I dont keep the lights on as long as they should. I hope this isnt going to hurt them in the future?

I would say humidity is your problem or you have put the seed too deep. When the seed has a tap root it doesnt need to go down very far at all. Also, you need more humidity try and get some sort of dome over the top and your temp needs to be in the range of 75-80. The excess heat could also be causing you a problem.

If you cant get the temp down in the grow area, take the pot out and just make sure it is getting normal daylight conditions at room temp with a dome over the top to increase humidity. Once it sprouts then you can either put it under the lights straight away or leave for another day and then put it under :)

thanks mc...im not sure what happened but the seed never broke soil...it almost looks like it was a bad seed or that it just died maybe because of the heat. I have a balcony but its not in direct sunlight would it still benefit to put it outside until it breaks soil? Im gonna start germinating another seed today.
