If you are looking for more of a sativa or indica effect, you can also time your harvest for your intended goal. Typically you look for about a 50/50 blend of brown to white milky hairs or 60/40 (depending on who you ask) and it's ready to go. However, many don't know that taking a plant a little early 40/60 maybe (more white than brown hairs) will give you more sativa and more brown hairs will give you more of an indica effect with the same strain. I've never tested this theory with pure indica or sativa (they don't exist) and my guess is it probably wouldn't work. But I have tested it with hybrids and it does seem to have some effect on the outcome.

IMO this is poor advise unless you are referring to trichomes not hairs.
Harvesting at 50% white hairs is way way too early for any strain.

When looking at trichomes if you harvest when most are cloudy vs amber, it will be more THC and more of a head high vs more amber when the THC has converted to CBN giving a body “couch lock” type high.

Essentially what I was saying. I've never seen hairs and trichomes be out of sync. Good catch and better said.
