If growing with hydro. Is is best to start and keep mama's in soil and just S.O.G. all the clones in hydro? Seems like it would be less work to keep mama thriving/alive in dirt (less maintenance and cost). dont want to lose any plants going from hydro to soil and them having stress from transfer etc...
Thanks for input.

As far as I can figure, you did this right. I did it the same way. Plants are doing great. Another two weeks and I should be able to sex them.

I grow only in hydro, so I keep my mothers in hydro. It doesn't matter though, some growers keep mothers in dirt, and grow the cuttings in hydro.

Mothers growing in dirt grow more slowly, which can be a good thing.

In my own experience, I'd agree with the guy above. But I'd be growing the mom fast in hydro to maximize clone production, get the SOG going, then have a few more moms to reap many clones from in 8 weeks.

theoretically how long could a mother survive? WHat is min. reservoir size for a healthy mom? Thanks for all the input.
