im thinking of getting a 12" rvk an i was wondering if it is to powerful could i put my own speed switch on it,like a light dimmer were u can turn the light how bright u want it'will it work the same for the rvk if i put a break in the middle of the wire then wire it the dimmer to the plug an the rvk

NO A DIMMER SWITCH WILL BURN OUT QUICKLY.

Envitonmental fan speed controllers can be used.

But I think there is a max size of fan that can be run.


SYSTEMAIR make their own fan speed controller that can be used with nearly all their fans.

I wouldn't advise useing a dimmer switch either. Most fan speed controllers will handle up to 15 amps. Which means if you can plug the fan into a normal household outlet, the controller can handle it. How big is your grow room? Must be pretty large to need a 12" fan.
