Running plants on darkness....

Hey guys Im a first timer, and I wanna know if I could run my plants on 14 hour darkness when I first start growing? Or what light timing should I run them on??

No really you need them in at least a 18/6 light schedule. Well I mean tech you could do a 12/12 but it wouldn't really veg that long and it would not produce any decent bud....

it depends on the strain you are growing. and for the first like 3 weeks you need your plants on a 16/8 light schedule then you can switch to 12/12 and see the sex. after that if you got a male rip it out and kill it. femalkes stay on 12/12 til harvest. pretty sure thats a descent rundown. correct me if wrong

Yeah I just now planted them about an hour ago and I think IM gonna run them on 18/6 for about 3 weeks then switch to 12/12 if a male doesnt pop out.
