That depends on what you expect...

If you expect a really short, really easy to grow and really fast budding plant, then it's worth it. If you however want a super potent, super high yealding plant, it may not be what you're looking for.

I love ruderalis! It is a fast and sturdy ol time strain. Grow them beans out, you will not be dissapointed. The high is a heavy couch lock style high. Very unmotivating smoke. But for tv and movie watching it is perfect.

i suggest making a hybrid like you said the resulting f1s will have much vigor and do very well outdoors. probably will not be super potent but ruderalis strains are strong regarding conditions bugs heat etc..

you prolly love the headache from hemp then........

Cannabis ruderalis
Cannabis ruderalis was first discovered in Eastern Europe. It can still be found growing wild in parts of Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, and other countries in the area. Often found in patches surrounding roadways where hemp was once cultivated, these wild plants are known as ‘ditch weed’.
Cannabis ruderalis probably originated from stray Cannabis sativa seeds that were utilized in the production of hemp, and grew wild. Although the species produces low THC content marijuana that is useless to medical and recreational users, it has several qualities that some breeders like.
THATS what i think of ruderalis. its RUDE to smoke because its THC potancy SUCKS.

unless its from specific breeders and less than 35% ruderalis, merly keeping the "auto-flower" genes while still furthering heavy harvests and extremly potent budz, see example

I have no good source for this information in regards to ruderalis however I do have sources to show that HEMP is full of CBDA. I also have sources that state that any of the Cannabis plants have X amount of points and those points are distributed to different cannabinoids but can never exceed X. So if we had 100 points and the plant put 80 in THCA then it's only got 20 points for other cannabinoids. This would mean that if the ruderalis is low in THCA it might have high points in other cannabinoids such as CBDA. I guess most people grow to get high but for me, I have interest in treating my Diabetes. THC increases Treg cell count which according to the US Department of Health and Human services cures Diabetes in animals. And CBD according to GW pharma prevents oxidation in diabetics. So I'm interested in Ruderalis because it's a stealthy version of Hemp. Hemp would be great if it didn't grow 3-4 meters high. So ruderalis is a good alternative.

Old thread I know but Ruderalis is not ditch weed... Ditch weed is typically sativa/Indica hybrids that were bred to make HEMP and became feral...

I will try answer this old thread even though I haven't grown this particular strain. This is copied from a seed site about this particular strain. Sensi indica ruderalis

"Through breeding with psychoactive Indicas from the south, Sensi has added potency and the result is this hardy, extra-early hybrid that can succeed in almost any environment. "

So they did crossbreed a medicinal Indica with this landrace ruderalis. The results should be 25% super low thc content auto , 50% hybrid with mediocre thc probably around 10% and the other 25% will be mostly skunk with 10%+ thc. So for a ruderalis breeding project this would be good since it has a high ruderalis percentage.

And it would be great for high CBd content if that's what you were going after. Personally I would get a trusted, stable strain such as afghan kush Ryder by world of seeds.

I have grown a few autos and really just play with them for breeding purposes. Pure ruderalis only yields about a half an ounce but semi autos(super autos) yield 3 or so ounces and take an extra week or two to finish. The future of autos will be a stable strain with 5-10% ruderalis which keeps the yield of the regular strains. That is what I'm going for. There are strains now that have this trait. Chaze and super automatic and "think different" by nirvana has had some great reviews. I'm currently crossing auto amnesia with critical mass. I should get some nice yielding semi autos from the mix but I'm not sure how easy it will be to stabilize a poly hybrid auto such as that.

I want to order some beans and tinker around with breeding to create some nice autos for dry sift hash. But if reeferman seeds ships to the usa, extract master is my top priority. I would grow great Sativa's but I live in Alaska and grow in a greenhouse and the season isn't long enough.
