rubbermaid question

I was concidering building a box out of 2 rubbermaid containers placed mouth to mouth, I saw it on here somehwere earlier.
the question it, I can see liht thru the containers and i know light kills the flower cycle, so, If i were to get a green container, wouldnt the light that comes thru be filtered to a green color therefore harmless?

I would assume it to be so. One thought would be if you can't put it in a lights out room maybe put a green light in the room also. Just a idea. Good luck

No light is best. I recommend making sure no light makes it in, even if plants are tolerable of green light during the off-cycle. You can pick up a spray-on rubber to coat your rubbermaids with.

Im very carefull but being in the closet with and then every now and then I need something from there or for some reason light is exposed for a few, the poin was a safeguard, not to put it in the middle of a lit room for the flower.
Yes, the green light is a good idea, i hadnt thought of that. I may just paint them black though on the outside and IF any should leak thru it still goes thru a final green filter.
I have an in cabnet grow going now, space is an issue even for 1ft plants so I have been thinking of a better (self contained ) diy grow, not one in my pc desk LOL
I can mount fan, lights and filter right on it and rount a small dryer line to the window to get it out. I used to build pc's and there is a site - xoxide.c om that has fan adapeters to rout cold air directly over the processor, they use a dryer type hose and an 80mm fan in mount for like 10 bucks, these make great vent tubes for these boxes.
So far my 6 plants with 6 cfl 100w replacements (23) and they are about 8" tall
Im in flower as of yesterday, AND YES THEY ARE SMALL. BUT the point of my grow was to push the size of the grow to a MINIMUM, even though a small yeild, I can make a fair amount in 3 months seed to weed, and try cloning and learn some things along the way. so even if it isnt optimal or as nice as some of yalls grow, it is working VERY well and the plants are growning violently and not streaching AT ALL! they are really bushy and short,,, 3 are about 6 inches and the other 3 7-8 inches
I put them on 12/12 yesterday to see what happens. If i have a lot of them fem, i will probably continue growing them in 12/12 but if they have only 1 or 2 then i may remove males and veg or clone, then i can keep it even smaller and MORE productive and clone constantly, but hey, its a learnin experiance
