ROUGH LEAVES. Is this bad?

my friend has a strain..

Big Buddha Cheese.

it's in the fifth week of flowering and is 3 feet tall.

The leaves are a dark foresty green. Not a trace of yellow.

HIs concern is that it's too rough. If he rubs the leaf backwards, it almost feels like sandpaper.. sometimes it breaks. It's easy to crush it in my hand if i break a piece off.

he's growing in soil.

Is this good? bad?

if bad, any suggestions? what could it be?

how to resolve this issue?

humidifier? any suggested brands?

will putting a bucket of water in the general area humidify the region enough?

i'm not even sure that the problem, but yeah i would think a humidifier, don't go buy one because of me though thats a guess

You good man! Whatever you do don't buy a humidifier! You want your humidity to be low towards the end of flowering. Your fine!!! High humidity promotes mold growth. Dont worry bout your leaves, They will make it....lol....lol!!!

My plants leaves feel the same way, accept my leaves wont break they're healthy and green, but when rubbed against backwards it feels like super fine sand paper.

IS THERE A REASON WHY THEY ARE LIKE THAT ????????

good question. im bumping this up, because id like to know why as well.
i am growing in coco and using canna a+b, leaves are nice and green, but at around week 4 or 5 they started feeling coarse. not crispy like the guy stated above, just a little rough. moreso then when it was in veg.
i'm just curious what the reason is. scientifically, in lamens. lol

I'm gonna take a stab and say a bit too much N. I only say, because that's been my problem. Flappy, happy leaves for me until about mid flower (where I like to screw things up) then they've gone dark and rough lIke clockwork. Tiny nute burns can happen in places other then the leaf tips, so be mindful!

I am having that same problem and after reading the thread thought okay it is too much nitrogen, that is the only thing that I added to both the bloom and veg cycles (2 grows). Why do you think over watering. I don't water everyday I typically water 2x a week maybe waiting for the soil to dry up about 2 digits down. How much water is too much water?

Mine ended up Beingaa calmag issue. I was overwatering but my ph was whack and it wasn't taking any in. I put it in the shower and flushed it and it got better. Not well but better. I was lucky it was autoflower and limped into the finishwater is too much water?

Nute lockout is a bitch to overcome. You pretty much just keep it alive but it don't grow. Auto would make the suffering shorter lol
