!!!!ROOTS!!!!

Hey what's going on out there in the world today?? Hope all is well with everyone out there an every one is having a great time growing this beautiful plants!! Now for me... This is only my second run ..like ever and I'm currently growing a Bruce banner auto an a zskittles auto. Both of which are coming into either week two or three of flower (roughly 7 weeks old) I amended my soil yesterday before I watered an I did as the bag said to do which was either leave it on top (which this particular amendment is made of lobster so it has abit of a fishy smell) or scratch it in to the surface. So I chose to do the scratch method because of the smell. Now in doing so I scratched up small roots very very close to the surface an this happened on both plants..is this a bad thing? Or could it just be a sign she got a healthy root system? Once again I'm new to this so sorry for the question I'm sure some of you will think is retarded lol. Any advice helps thanks!

Messing with roots in soil while flowering is a big red flag
My soil may smell but if it did I would think I was overwatering
Just a thought with no pics

When you top dress, you're more than likely going to disturb some surface roots..
No problem..

If the soil smells it's normally because of a drainage issue from what I have read..and Im just not a fan of a fishy smell so I decided to scratch it into the surface of the soil I maybe got a quarter of an inch down on both plants before hitting these tiny roots that are all over the surface just under the top of the soil on both plants. I mean this could be a result of a watering issue like pouring it in to quickly an essentially digging up the soil after so many waterings. Idk I've amended the soil once before an didn't hit any roots so I'm just going off of ideas I've read. So I decided to use worm castings as an even top dress around both plants to cover the roots back up. I'm going to get a different type of watering pail that doesn't pour a stream an hopefully everything works out. Idk but we will

It is normal to disturb roots when top dressing.. You're over thinking this..
