Rootbound

growing a plant in the same container too long forcing the roots to become tangled and grow in circles; roots must be carefully loosened when re-potted

which is why you move up to larger pots as the plants get bigger so that this doesn't happen ... this can cause stress and stunt growth if not loosened when re-potted also

This is also a time to root prune some the girdling roots if necessary. Before you take a plant out of it's pot dip the hole pot in a bucket of water always keep the roots wet when u take the plant out of it's pot.

yea, when i transplanted i basically just put it into a bigger pot....dang...lol bc i had some good plants going..now they are whithering and just dying its heartwrenching!

you would have to rip the roots pretty bad to have the plants die from a transplant. when did you transplant? if it was just a day or 2 ago, a bit of wilt could be normal. did you maybe overwater or stress them? Did you get the whole rootball? they say the longer you have the plant out of soil, the more stress...

i transplanted and defintiely had some small roots break and it didn't cause any trouble. didn't wilt at all between replanting and grew stronger after because the roots had more room to grow. you can tell if you need to transplant because your plants will be getting very dry between waterings. I couldn't go a day without watering when my plant was n a 3gallon. when i went to a 5/6gallon, it wouldn't need water more than 1 or 2x a week. much easier to manage.

I transferred my favourite girl from a 200mm pot to a 250mm pot and a week later she is already showing large white roots out the bottom of the pot again.
I failed to loosen the roots when repotting ROOT.jpgSW1LSTc.jpg

Were they rootbound when you re potted? Prob not as u dont know what it means. This would have cause a shakeup to the root system ,shocked them and now they are stressed.
