root question

when i harvested my 1st grow i noticed the roots were not very deep there was plenty more room for them i was wondering if me moving the clone to a larger pot before i put it in my grow room ? or if it could be caused by over watering or not giving it breaks between the nutrient feedings for the 1st 4 weeks ? i still got an okay yield but i think i should have gotten more
i also noticed that the root were stringy almost hairy is this normal or a sign of problems

roots should be bright white and fuzzy.

these fuzzy hair like roots are the feeders/feelers of the root system, the long roots going up to the stalk are the transport system.
