I just realized there is a Sub category for bugs sorry i missed that. i'm already showing me newbieness to the forums. I cant figure out how to delete this one so i can put it in the right area.

Hello everyone, i am constantly using roll it up as a reference but this is my first thread of my own. i have been growing for about a year and i am on my 4th grow. i have a good idea of what i am doing. well i am not a complete newbie. I have never had any bug problems before...man as i lucky!

I found these things after i put put sticky traps up for fungus gnats. I noticed that there were some that were a bit bigger then the rest. they have what they call "Tailpipes" same as root aphids have. I was told this is a tell tall sign for root aphids. also i heard you would be chasing deficiencies and i have been chasing a calmag deficiencies. also i have found little bugs in my pots. i popped the plants out of there 2 gal pots and there are black and clearish bugs of all different sizes around the bottom rim of the root mass. I have come to the conclusion after many hours of research these are root aphids. i just don't understand how i got them. they cant even live here in michigan. and there is no way they could have got here from another grow.

that is why i am asking someone that knows what there talking about to check these pictures out and tell me what they think. i am going to kill all 15 of my plants that are about 6 weeks old if this is that case. Because the guy at my local grow shop was telling me all kinds of horror story about them and suggested that i kill them all. he made it sound like once they hit flower the plants would start shedding leaves right away because they cant get enough nuts.i am an organic soup style grower in a foxfarm mix so the idea of putting the bayer omni in is sickening. but at this point i would do anything to save my babies. i would just like to be 100% sure that these are root aphids before i doing something like kill my babies!

I am considering using old synthetic nuts to force feed my babies and using omni or what ever that bayer stuff is called. or just taking clones and starting all over again :( i would like to know 1) evan after you have signs of def that has been around for 3 weeks and flyers is it possible to get them under control? 2) is best case scenario only getting a 50% yield? 3) and most importantly does this sound and look like root aphids to you? 4) are the (tailpipes) unique to the root aphid? any other advice or input on there fuckers would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for my run on sentences and shitty pics i took them with my phone camera through a 12$ scope i got a radio shake. If you have any questions please ask i am new to the posting thing so i'm sure i left out some valuable information.

in the pictures i am pointing out the "tailpipes" on the mother fuckers. the first 2 are of a bug from the bottom of my pot and the last 2 are from a flyer on my sticky trap.

yes, those do look like Root aphids, I just discovered I have them myself. What I am doing is, I put all my pots in a smartpot and wrapped wire around pot to seal off bottom holes, I put Gnatnix around the top, I am waiting on some sns203 and I will do a soil drench. I Knocked out most of the flyers with stickey traps. You have to cut off the access for them to lay eggs, i also noticed they lay eggs in my humidity dome. I had little larvae in my root riot cubes. Nasty little effers.
