Rockwool germination

Hey,

I'm germinating using rockwool and one of the seeds has the root like 3" long but there is no sign of it on the top of the cube so I put it on the bucket.
Can someone tell me if this is normal or if I should just start another one...
thx :)

I am on my first grow and only 2 weeks in but I started all of my seeds right in the rockwool right in the hydroton right under the light. All seeds germed within a week and were sticking up. Can you see down in the rockwool? You should be able to see your seedling in there and see what its doing. I always pulled the hole in the top open a LITTLE just so I could see what the seed was doing in there and if it was germing and if it was about to pop out because I had some that were way slower then others.

I'm gonna try that and I hope works for me, I'm having very bad luck germinating my seeds :(

The problem and common mistake some people make is that they insert the seed the wrong way in the rockwool, and bury too deep!

Dig around the sides until you can just see the seed and give it plenty of light. The seed will push through if you give it enough room to do so otherwise it'll be in struggle town
