ridic leaf curling....root rot?

its my first solo grow and at first i thought it was broad mites, but now i'm thinking its root rot.
i grow in 7 gal bags, indoor with soil.
all and any help super appreciated. thanks!

overwatering? ph off? too hot? mg soil? all guesses till you give me specs

Ive been regulating temps and ph. I don't think its that.
im leaning towards overwatering / bad drainage.
But I wanted a second opinion.
I've read threads on how to combat the rot, but I was wondering if I should let the pots dry out before watering in something to help. And if so, how dry do I let them get?
