RH Humidity Control

Hi guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but i'm hoping some intelligent minds can help a guy out. I'm about 2 weeks and a bit from 12/12 and while my lights are on everything is great. The temp/humidity hover around 25C/50%RH. I run the lights starting at 8pm, until 8am as this is the coolest time of day. This leaves 8am - 8pm as the dark cycle. I checked today, during lights out and the RH is 75% pushing 80%, and I know this is way too high during flowering.

The best solution (which won't work for me) would be to run a dehumidifier in the room the tents in, to drop the RH before entering the tent however the room is not sealed so basically whatever the humidity outside is, will be the same inside. This would basically be like trying to change the humidity outside.

Besides sealing off the room, which at this point isn't in the cards, what are my options? Moving my grow to a sealed room? This could possibly be an option soon enough, but not right now.

Would it be possible to duct the exhausted dry/warm air straight from the dehumidifier, into one of the inlet ducts into my tent, and lower my exhaust fan to maybe only exchange the air once or twice every 4 or 5 mins during the dark cycle? I've seen posts in another thread, that had linked to products you hang, that are supposed to wick moisture? Are these a waste of time? The tent is only 4x4, but the room that its in is quite large. Bringing up the temp during the dark cycle I am sure would help some but a lot of the days from here on out, will be 25c with high humidity so I don't know where to go from here.

I'm sure many have dealt with this issue, so hopefully we can get it resolved.

Thanks guys.

You know what? I give up on humidity other than keeping air moving and a lot of it. A lot of it! Separate fans for canopy and under the canopy. Do not water except first thing in the morning. And buy cheap boxes of salt to leave in there to absorb what it can. Dehumidifiers add more heat.

I have central air in my house. My plants are happy.
Basement is way cooer than any room in my house. Night temp right now in my large tent is 18 degrees. When my 2 thousand waters come on in that room highest temp is 25.
Maybe get a portable ac....

Oh my exhaust goes 24/7 in all my rooms.

My room can be seal easily my next big purchase is going to be a dehumidifier somewhere between 50 and 70 pints cuz I really don't know if 30 pints would do it, I'm between a salt marsh and an ocean so it's often swampy here!

One of my biggest issues is I'm running out of outlets (and electricity in general) I have two separate lines in the grow room, had kind of hoped it would be enough?

But I agree about moving lots of air! For now I'm using my little dehumidifier from the drying room which does basically nothing in 5×5 grow tent, in addition to clip fans I like 9 inch high velocity floor fans, they move a lot of air gently!
