Reservoir size? (Aero)

I'm planning to have a small scale go at aeroponics, due to space limitations I want it to be as compact and self contained as possible. I'm planning the DIY version of the Aeroflo as I've seen on here a few times. A cross between Aeroponics and NFT. I was wondering that since an external resavoir requires more connections, there are more chance for leaking, drippings noise and by connecting the rez via tubing it would be harder to drain and refill/move.

I was going to try and fit the whole system inside the aero square piece itself which led me to the question, is there a minimum size for a rez? Being only 3 plants would they still take all the nutrients in too quick? Or would it heat up too much maybe? Any ideas?

I've added a little diagram to hopefully explain myself better.

If i were you, i would design the system so i could easily access the reservoir without taking the system apart.
But the idea looks good so far, the amount of plant is not very important, you can go 3 or 30 or 300.

Cheers for the replies, good idea, I'm thinking about just fitting the plant part to the resavoir snuggly without glue so it could be lifted off easily. Excellent link thank you some great info on there. :D Will have a play with some ideas and get some pics up once its built.

Cheers
