Reservoir Question (quick)

Say your res is filled with 1 gallon distilled water and 1/4 strength nutes...as the water level gets lower you obviously have to refill it, is it better to top it off with ph'd distilled water until the next res change or just top it with water with the same strength nutes?

I change the res. every 7 days so I only add water. If you don't drain to waste you will want to maintain proper ppm level

When adding back just use water, then test the ph and ppm and correct from there. If you mix first you could over shoot
and have to dilute or dump and start over =ing in waist.

"Obviously you have to re-fill it" is an incorrect statement. There is no requirement to do such a thing. Some people do this, some don't, both will result in good grows. In the past with DWC i have topped it up regularly and let it run down to less than an inch of water, the plants always did the same thing and always did just great unless i made a complete booboo which is itself a different issue to simply the water level maintained in the reservoir.

People talk about daily maintenance required with hydro, if you don't want to, you don't have to, there is no requirement, some people jut like to get incredibly anal about their cannabis grows, and i'm not bashing it, everyone grows as they grow, i just opt for the lazy method of filling it up once a week and not checking it until it's empty, my plants did just great and the plants that had regular topping up and attention did no better so i stuck with the lazy option

Good question, I got a 1/2 liter res feeding three plants and they drink 1/4-1/3 a liter a day. I top twice a day sometimes with full strength 3 part nutes. Plants are healthy but no spectacular growth. Might be overfeeding, don't know. There's no burning happening either.

I would go by the size of your res.
