Aquarium fluoros work excellent for growing if you get the right ones. I did this for many years. I'm surprised more people don't use them...So here's a noob question...
Suppose I buy an LED panel, when the bulbs reach the end of thier lifecycle can I just replace the bulbs or is the panel in its entirety rendered useless?
Exactly. This is why I switched to HO T5s, but using aquarium bulbs, which are available in LED like spectrums. Search here for Pr0fesseurs LED Without LEDs My First T5 Grow
I have read that article and was very very interested in it. At the moment I am growing a white widow under about 300watts of 2700k cfls (actual watts). I am growing in a DR60 tent, first grow ever so I am just running one through start to finish to get some experience. Then I plan to do a small sea of green with the tent keeping the mother I was thinking 4x t5 side lights and 4x55watt cfls on top. Then I will be getting either a new gen US made led panel (like cali lighting). Or, the t5 led like lamps. Can you link a website that has good quality t5 bulbs in both red and blue spectrum?Exactly.
