Refining Black Oil

Has anyone ever turned black oil into some better more refined product? If you have a bunch of black oil lying around you can use a separation funnel and two solvents to make it into a better product first being alcohol second being hexane or butane I wouldnt use butane unless you had dry ice. Mix the alcohol into the black oil and turn it back to a liquid and then add the other solvent. (Both bho thc and hexane are lighter than alcohol) therefore it floats and all the crap sinks to the bottom. Open the valve and cook off the stuff that floated. ( It may take some time for the mixture to settle so be wary of the chemicals you are using and how they react. (Do it out side or in a lab environment) I will post a video later of the process. It's not very complicated either it's just something I'd really think through before doing to ensure safety and optimal product.

Eh. I make FECO from golden dragon and it's always tar-like once all the alcohol evaporates. I put a tablespoon or two of alcohol (198 proof potable) back in to use it and it's fine.

No desire to use any petroleum distillates to clean anything, given the potential for trace amounts of toxic scunge being left behind. Sorry, food grade or GTFO.

Hexane is food grade at least the stuff I get.

Hexane is toxic either way. If you're using it for extraction at home it's probably more dangerous since it's dangerous as a gas and documented toxicity comes from people breathing it but also who knows how much home use scrubs it from the end product.

I'll stick to extraction with ethyl alcohol.

Stop trying to polish turds. If it doesn't look like this out the tube don't ingest it.

Above samples are BHO. Trim from plants dry hung 14 days 65 °F 60% RH
Cure room is flash dried down to 45% for 1 hour while temps stay below 68 °F
Dry trim goes straight into vac bag then deep freezer. Consistencies vary by strain and technique.

I live next door to a refinery. If it's allowed in the food I eat then certainly it's can be used for cannabis. It's more of a science experiment I could do the exact same thing with butane and completely nullify your answer. The science is simple the process should be thought out because butane is highly explosive but drop it to a -50 degrees and it's much easier to work with also the plant matter just sinks to the bottom leaving only the good stuff on top. Just have to wait for the mixture to separate and float on top of the alcohol. Then the butane will just do it's thing like it always does. Just need an ol hippie with a pail of black oil to make a demonstration.
