Really need some help with odour control please - Newbie!

Hi RIU,

Today as I was going into my room I could smell weed on the first floor and upstairs on the second. I am really worried because I need stealth, to combat it I lit up a j but I need a proper solution.

Basically I am in a 1.2m^2 tent in my bedroom.

I have a 5" Filter and recently got a 6" fan. Maybe I need a 6" Filter?

I also recently got an air cooled hood to help with heat issues, I have air being pushed through the bulb with a separate fan and then I got a Y piece and joined this to the Y piece with the exhaust from the fan.

Before I connected this to the Y I attached the Fan first and noticed it was pushing air out the hole for the light. When I attached ducting to the Y (this piece will run to the bulb) I could also feel the air coming through from this ducting.

The plan was to have all the air being sucked out going out through an airbrick up the chimney breast.

Here's a pic.

I don't know what to do to combat the smell escaping. I have 7 ladies and 1 Autoflowering baby all in flowering.

Here's a pic of my girls. Majorly running out of space!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Use a 6" fan and an 8" filter
You'll need a 8" to 6" reducer to connect them.

The filter lasts longer when you use a smaller fan.

If you cannot afford a Rhino or Phresh filter, look into FANTRONIX carbon filters.

I got an 8" for £30 ($45) brand new.
They don't last as long as more expensive filters BUT they are great for a cheap and immediate solution to an odour situation.

YOUR FANS,DUCTING and VENTS..?
Please explain again EXACTLY which fan does what AND how each fan/filter/ducting connection is vented.
(I didn't understand the original explanation).

IT MAY BE AS SIMPLE AS A 5" FILTER BEING TOO WEAK....?
Have you checked all your connections?

Pulling air through hoods/ducting is preferable to pushing it.

Okay cheers I am going to look into a 8" filter. I will have to figure out where I will put it though cos it might be too big where the current one is.

Okay the venting.

I have a 6" taking air our thats scrubbed.
And I have a 4" pushing air through my light.

These two are connected to a Y piece that takes the air out through airbrick.

That is what I was thinking. to be fair though before I got the 6" fan, I had a 5" fan and filter and I could always smell weed in my room which the tent is in.

I don't have negative pressure :/

also if you could turn down the extraction fan a little it may help the slower the air goes through a filter the better it filters. if your just using 1 filter set up you want it to be way stronger than your fan. like 800 cfm for a 400 cfm fan or something along those lines.

Okay cheers. I have the fan toned down a bit but the filter is in need of an upgrade then. Definitely.

How do you run ONA? I thought it is a gel. Do I need to run it with a fan?

you could always make a filter. Arent carbon filters really easy make?
Hi mate. I have a CF which I need to upgrade though. And yeah think so read a few diy tutorials. Where I am it's hard to get the parts and would be easier and quicker to purchase one.
