It's time for me to buy an exhaust fan for my room. Anyone have any good ones they would recommend. preferrably not too expensive either, but def. not cheap quality either.

Grow room is 11 ft. long by 6.5 ft wide. by 8 ft. high so.... what is that. 572 cfm i need. and then why not tack on an extra hundred cfm or so just to give my babies the air flow they deserve:).

oh and how long do you think most fans last? i want to run it 24/7, and im even maybe thinking buying one used, but my thoughts are i would have no idea the conditions the fan was used in before so it might have already been really stressed and could go out soon? but don't really know...thanks.

THANKS SO MUCH! I have never grown indoors so am noob! but VERY EXCITED TO HAVE complete control... :)

anyone ever got a pound per plant indoors?

i get like 10/plant outdoors

This 8" is a bargain, compared to a can-fan or vortex, it's about 60-70% of the price of either of those two. I think this seller is also the manufacturer, or at least he has the same last name as the brand name.

BTW, did that 572 include bends in the ductwork, sound mufflers, etc. ?

sweet, looks good if i go that route... but someone actually just recommended to me that i go to wal mart or local hardware store and get a stanley blower... and attach the duct work on intake and exhaust side but hang it from a bungee in the middle of the room to quite the sound.... they said it works great... and the stanley blower has three speeds for your own personal cfm, and the lowerst is over 1,000 cfm and its only like 50 BUCKS!!!!!!

What do you mean did it include ducting, bends, mufflers? I am going to duct the intake, and the exhaust, no bends...straight shot, and no mufflers hopefully... i hear just hanging it from the bungee and having good ducting will keep your vibration and noise real low.... but noise is major concern, i live in a duplex and the room im using, one of the walls splits my house from other tenants...so i would feel hella bad if he always heard a hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ducting, bends and mufflers (filters?) reduce CFM's bigtime. those fans are a little noisey, but i dont think the neighbors will here it. The stanley blower seems to be the most CFM"S for the money. Type " stanley blower mod " into a google search and you will see lots of info and people using the stanley blower.

I've not used a stanley blower myself, but in my experience the noise of the air rushing through the ducting is a fair bit louder than the fan. If I were running over 1000cfm it'd want to be through at least 10" ducting and probably still want a duct muffler on the end if noise was a concern.
Get one, it's a bargain at that price, and there's mods all over for those things, I bet there's one to drop the speed down to what you need and have more there if you need it.
