20130702_161607.jpg.....so here's what im getting from the edges of the plate.....20130703_093507.jpg20130703_093512.jpgand here's what dries on bottom flat part of plate...a dry sticky crystaly like powder....that melts to straight clear oil....the first pic is oil beaded up on sides of plate...I dont understand what im doing or whats happening.....can a qwiso person explain plz

I quick wAshed w 91% alchohol for twenty seconds...the alchohol was golden clear after rinse.....and dried to what u see in pics....clear gold amber oil beaded up but also the dry crystal type film where the oil was not.........is the dry stuff resin/dope?....it melts to a clear oil

When I do mine, I get all like your first pic.
If I want like pics 2 and 3, I have to sift shake or trim.

I freeze weed in mason jar untrimmed ( cuts release the green) but I use whole plant normally... anyway pour 99% ISO acquired at Randall's for $1 shake 5 seconds pour through metal coffee filter. Then through paper coffee filters so its not soaking while draining. The paper coffee filter makes all the difference in clarity and further processing to shatter

To get shatter its best to start with butane or similar the idea is polar/ non polar freeze precipitate the fats.. ISO being much harsher than etoh will still give good product. My preferred. No purge is not necessary

That oily stuff on the side is chlorophyl...try doing a wash bho style...fill a tube and pour Iso in and let it drain right thru your filter into your pyrex dish....or just do a real quick wash 5-10secs and strain it out.....if its really good trim or cut buds,i'll wash twice.I'm sure you know material and alcohol should be cold(freezer at least 48hrs)....AND have everything out,setup and ready to use:)

Uhhhh yeah,what he said about the shatter:).......no purge needed with the qwiso..that crystally powder is melted trichomes...the whiter the better?
Ive set aside about 56g of bud and trim to make Iso:)

Yes trim n alchohol stay in freezer....I wash for 20 seconds but no shaking...maybe a little swirling....I watch the color of the alchohol in the jar as im doing it to make sure it stays clear to golden....I quickly strain thru metal large strainer to let product out of alchohol as fast as possible. ...then I double filter thru paper coffee filters....then evap at room temp w fan on it.....this batch I had a quart size mason jar full to the top w critical trim...I only had enuf alchohol to fill half the jar...so I pour it in and rolled the jar around letting the alchohol cover all the trim...then strained ....it turned out really potent and ima get another bottle to wash the rest here in a bit....ill update....idk hkw to do the butane thing and dont have what I need to do it

If you find it too; harsh, leaves a waxy film taste in mouth, congestion, poor flavor. The winterizing will take care of all that. A bottle of ever clear can be ordered cheap online if unable to locate. Make sure you heat it a little first and only use as much as needed to dissolve in order to remove most of the waxes. It won't remove quite all as they are both polar but iso isn't selective to any specific cannabinoid . Butane picks up mainly the thc. So will make an amber oil good for meds or sleep.

We make it the same way,only I don't use a paper filter,try using the reusable coffee filters.I think we should use 99%.I'll order some from amazon:)
Lol....my pics don't do it justice:)my first pic the hit on the razor is white,melted to nothing when I barely hit it with heat.That one hit,i was high for hours:eyesmoke:

mine the same....if I just get the flame near it it melts to clear/golden oil then to nothing....I ust metal strainer first to get product out of wash...then pour that thru a double stacked paper coffee filter. ....im actually gonna triple filter this nxt batch

I would strongly recommend a micron filter syringe if your thinking about that. Much faster and removes mold bacteria etc

Idk what a Micron filter syringe is.....uve been sacs ng two filters n was gonna stack a third....I know itll take a while to drip thru but should only make the product bttr?????.....im very new to this and actually only briefly studied it....im just wingin it and using my best judgment....ive concentrated and worked with other kinds of drugs before that had oil bases.....ive got an idea of how things work

A micron filter syringe is what it sound like. Cheap on eBay. You suck up the liquid with it varying in size measured in ug so much smaller than a coffee filter..only way to effectively remove mold from bud and make smoke able product..comes in handy if running shwag or bad bud
