about a month ago i got ahold of some really good headies. I dont know what strain it was but the bud itself was completely purple. i found a seed in one of the buds one day and held on to it to plant. my question is, if grown correctly will my seed i found produce the same bud that i found it in? will it also be all purple like?

It will likely be the same, but there's no telling for sure due to possible multiple phenotypes. Your grown plant might turn out different. There's also no way of telling whether the purple you noticed was because of genetics, or if the grower simply encountered very coold temps.

I wouldn't know anything about that ice water shit. Sounds like a bad idea. Just to illustrate what I was saying about temp, I recently grew some Afghan Kush and there were days during flowering when the temp got down to 57. This caused parts of some of my plants to go purple. There was one fairly large fan leaf that went about 70% purple. Pretty crazy looking. Ultimately the smoke came out fantastic and there are some nugz with a little purp.
