Seeds from a badly GROWN plant will still produce quality smoke it is all up to the experience and care of the grower for that. Yes you can still use those seeds from last year as long as they were stored properly in a cool dark location.

Seeds in small plastic bag, bags in small Tupperware filled partially with rice, that tupperware in brown paper bag, that brown paper bag in the crisper of your refrigerator. The seeds we just planted came from there after sitting about 2 1/2 years with the hundreds of others we have had for years. This method should keep good seeds viable for 10+ years.

yes, eventually, seeds will no longer be viable. A year or two isn't goin g to matter too much and they should be fine. Don't grow seeds from crappy weed. It takes a lot of time to grow the plants and using inferior genes will end in disappointment and wasted time. If you can order some seeds than do so. That way, you can have an idea of what your getting and can choose a type that's right for you needs. Bagseed are often long flowering strains so 10+ weeks of flowering is common. If you do grow bagseed, I recommend you grow as many plants as you can so that you can choose the best of the best and have plants in case something isn't desirable.
