This is the Schwarts's gf for the record.
we have 2 new seedlings to add to the collection and i want to make sure they dont stretch like mad like our other ones did when we were using shitty lights, that in my oppinion were too far away.
now in our little grow box we have 4 cfls
how close should i have the lights to prevent stretching???

so close they're almost touching. Hold the back of your hand underneath see how close you can move before it feels hot that's your distance. Use 6500 K light and they won't stretch they'll branch out.

Put The Cfl's About The Width Of 2 Fingers Away.. If Your Using The Right Spectrum (6400.k) They Wont Stretch as Much :)
Hope I Helped :)

as has been said with cfls you need to get them as close as possible. if your adding more plants you also might want to consider getting more cfls or maybe even an hps or mh light.

i just went to go sit the peat pellets ontop of a lil stack of plastic containers to get 'em closer to the light n found out their roots are about 2inches through the peat pellet already so i gotta plant them, but theres not enough room in the grow box yet. I have 2 fairly big plants, 1 clone in the box, and another cloning on the windowsil.
ahh i have nowhere to put the peat pellets once i have them planted in pots!
i'm gonna go freak out for a bit, be back once i figure out what to do. ciao
