Quick question about lights

does a light with a cri rating of 85 at 6500k put our more blue light than a light with a cri of 80????

Many bulb manufacturers are using a three digit code to specify its color rendering index (CRI) and the color temperature of the bulb. The first number is the CRI which in this case in basically a 0-10 scale with 10 essentially meaning that the bulb provides true color. A traditional incandescent would have a CRI of 10 whereas most fluorescents are somewhere between a 5 and 8. The second number is the color temperature in kelvins multiplied by 100. So if the last two numbers are 27 then the bulb has a kelvin rating of 2700....in other words bigger is better...lol
