Quick question about flowering/buds

Well I have two plants one which yeah just made it through, they are pretty big now about 2-3 ft high the fan leaves are bigger then my hands they are huge.

I put them into flowering two weeks ago (12/12), they have not shown any change apart from growth has rapidly increased.

This is a first grow so yes I am a complete noob to this they are under 125w CFL as this is a first grow and only 2 plants.

They are in fairly large pots 6 Inch (15 cm), they are in mg soil, I changed the soil a month ago because they got locked out and started to die and was recommend to use mg with 25% perlite which is exactly what I have done.

I mean like they are huge and very very healthy stink abit to, but no buds what so ever, they are feminized seeds, so they are female, whats going on?

you are only using one 123 watt cfl? are you sure its the rite spectrum for flowering #1,,,#2 i dont think thats enuff lite for two 2 foot high plants...i would throw at least one more in there....

Feminized doesn't mean female! just a greater chance!

Once they stop growing rapidly you will see buds forming man, i know its hard waiting whn you are expecting something...for me when i grow the hardest parts are germination, toward the end of veg, and strt of flower, then end of flower..the rest sort of just happens..but when im looking all the time to know when to do something they seem to take forever to do it..look away for 2 seconds, come back and theres colas all over lol..

I hope you walk into your grow one day and are blown away by the pistils everwhere man . And feminized seeds mean you have the best chance possible to get girlies, just kep the stress down..now you are on 12/12 theres little room for oops.

im with prot,,,patience is the key to the gate as i would say....they will come about but get some more lites ....and yes they dont garentee all females just a greater chance but if you get a male i would say collect his pollen

The CFL is doing a good job, I even bought a reflector for it, the plants are getting a good range of light all over, if they wasnt they wouldnt be healthy.

I did change the bulb to the red (FLOWERING) spectrum CFL when I went 12/12, they are growing I would say 1-2 inchs a day in height and the foliage is wow..

Proberly right, just a waiting game

I shall invest in some of them small CFLS with a few hangers to put in between them.

Apparantly, the common problem for plants not going into flower is light leaks- your flowering plants should be getting 12 full hours of complete darkness in order to start producing buds.


I personally would reccomend adding many many many many more CFLS. Even though the one you have is high power, CFLs have very poor penetration, and theres a good chance that the lower leaves of your plant won't get sufficient light. If it were me, I'd buy at least four 26w or 42w bulbs to help get some light to the lower half of the plant.

Im flowering with a 400 watt MH,looking GREAT so far!Tons of Pistils!a month and one week in,not budding yet,hopefully soon,the pistils are starting to come open,this is all new to me so hopefully not much longer till it buds up!

you need more lighting bud (pun intended).. if you can't afford a decent light, get a couple more cfl's... check out ebay for a 600 watt digi...
