Questions about Stealth Hydro

Ok,

I got the 6 pot bubbleponics system from a buddy who just moved out of town. I have been reading up on the system and have a couple of real newb questions that I have yet to see answers to.


FYI: I have the single container system, I.E. my grow container is my rez

Changing the water:

How do I do it? I am planning to install a spiggot at the bottom so that I can drain it easily, however... When I change it, is it ok to drain it completely, or will this shock the roots?

Also, is there something I need to do to the rockwool before using them? memory serves me right that I need to balance them or something.

awww i remember those days of confusion. you can by the one that already has a drain kit. but yea you have to change ALL the water and rinse it out.i just had my brother hold the plants while i ran an dumped it.a minute or 2 is okay anything over like 20 mins might dry out an shock it.

I just siphon it out. Its elevated about three feet off the ground. Just get one of those fish tank siphons. takes about 3 min.
