Questions about my Water

hello all,

I am using an organic soil mix, LC Recipe #1 tweaked and customized. I currently water with 1 tablespoon horticulture molasses and 5 ml of Liquid Karma, which is a fulvic acid/humic acid source. My plants are good, 5th week now, but I have been experiencing CAl-mag defincies. I have only been watering with bottled spring water or distilled. This is becuase my tap comes out at 7.0 ph and 450 ppm! So my question is, can I use the tap water if I let it sit in a bucket for 24 hours and airate it? I have tested the ph after letting it set out before and it was over 8! It would be ideal to be able to use that water and just use pH down? I have Cal-Mag but I did not know if this would harm the micro-herd? If I can use the Cal-Mag , should I stop using it around 2 weeks out, just as I will do with the molasses and liquid Karma? Thanks so much y'all

I would think you'd be fine aerating the water left out and dropping that ph. Of course a proper organic soil should buffer anyway. Hard to say if you are deficient or have a lock out going on. Whats the run off ph? cal-mag shouldn't harm the micro organisms and the whole flushing/ stopping nutes at the end is up to you, lots of debate about that here. I personally have flushed, but it makes sense that it's all about the cure. I'm not going to flush this round and see what's up with that. I'm organic too. If that's your soil mix, did you let it sit and cook proper before using?

No, I only gave it 10 days...that is my fault, but it was compounded by the strain I am growing:OG. From what I have read they are finicky about this issue. It is from seed and I have two. One is much bushier/kush leaning and isn't having near the issue that her stretchy sativa leaning sister is with the soil. I'm wondering if I should even worry about it now as I am so close to finishing and I will have a clone of her to run so I can dial it in. It would be very beneficial to my wallet if I could just use the tap in the future though even if it is a high ppm. Should I use an organic pH down or can I use the standard kit I have already?

Yeah might have to bite the bullet on this one. I just had a round using happy frog and for whatever reason the ph was way low. I flushed/ watered in a bunch of dolomite lime, foliar fed, made some teas with lots of beneficials and humic acid game em cal-mag until the lime kicked in and it took a month to straighten out. Let that homemade soil cook proper next time, and you can't always trust the bagged stuff.
