Ocean Forest is just fine out of the bag. They don't add any chemical nutes, so it's just good, rich soil.
It does, like all soils, compact when watered, and compacted soil is harder for young roots to penetrate. To make to Ocean Forest even better for seedlings, you can improve the texture by adding some perlite (available in the garden section of Home Depot) at a 1:1 ratio with the soil. My personal seedling mix is 1:1:1 of soil
erlite:vermiculite. Great for cloning.
Perlite is an item you never have enough of on hand. I always put about an inch at the bottom of my pots, and never have drainage related problems like root rot.
