Question setting up hydro drip setup.

Okay guys, first time grower here, got a bunch of instructions at the hydro store and a huge amout of equipment, forgot all the insttructions and figured out everything except one or two things.

Here are myquestions: First, should i have 3 air stones in each of my 3 tanks, and should i just drill a hole in the top of the plastic tub tfor the air tubing to enter, or is there a better way?

I have 3 large 60L containers attached via a hose, and I am doing a drip set up on all 3 with one pump.

Also, I have a large tube with two pieces, a short piece and a long piece that goes the length of my 3 tubes and the other that goes maybe a foot higher than the tub. There's also an elbow to attach the two pieces, and a bunch of thin tubing as well. So i understand that the shorter one sticks up, attahces to the elbow, and then sticks up a few inches so the large tube flows downhill... Then the smaller tube shoots off of the main tube and delivers the nutrients? Now if this is correct, then how do i attach the big tubes to the little tubes??? It seems like it would be hard to get a good seal. Any advice? Thanks.
