Question Running Regular Seeds

Hello, I have ordered a 10 pack of regular seeds from GPS. The strain is Tomahawk (GG#4xStardawg) my question is if I plan to run the whole pack what would be the best way to discover the males as I am only interested in bud. I know it's a 50/50 and how to tell the difference of the two preflowers. I am more interested in finding the most efficient way to rid myself of the males.

So what are your guys methods?
Make clones show sex?
Flip whole tent to 12/12 to see sex then reveg?

Really just looking for what works for the community so share your process if you care to.

I flip and see them then reveg and take clones. I keeps certain studs for breeding but in an entirely different room

Thanks for the quick reply man. That sounds pretty efficient. Pheno hunt it out take clones of the best. How long do you veg before checking? Does reveg take awhile? I never tried it myself.

Are you limited in space? Do you plan on keeping mother plants for cloning? If you're vegging for an extended period of time and need room i would clone and sex the clones then pull the males. If you want mother plants i would take multiple cuttings, raise one and sex the other. If you aren't limited in space or if you're going to flip soon just pull the males as they show. I don't have much experience with revegging so i don't know how stressful it is to the plant or if there are ill effects.

I understand I could sit back and wait to see preflowers, but i have heard of ways to save on time and resource of growing out all 10 plants (100% Germ) If you think just growing them out is the best way, ill take that as an answer. How long do you veg before seeing pre-sex?

From my experience, three to five weeks. Note though that not all strains show sex in veg.

I just clone every plant as soon as I possibly can, put the clones in 12/12 as soon as they root, and match the female/male clones to their original donor as they show sex. I then act accordingly with the males.

Now I've got the original plants that have been vegging for a little while (that don't have to re-veg), and a bunch of clones that are already flowering that I can let continue if desired.

its different but 3-4 weeks. I prefer to veg somewhat bigger plants so I can sort the males out during the veg, as plants need more room I check on males, throw them subsequently out, then when all are out and the area is filled flip over to flower.
Ive never bothered to take cuts to flip them or other fancy stuff because its simply part of any veg there is the time to throw the males all out after which more training occurs to bring the females in shape.

As of now im in a single 5x5 tent, these beans are plans for the future have some fem seeds going right now. But I am on the quest for info, multiple cuttings is a solid idea if i do find out reveg is not ideal. As of now I would have to add a little clone tent or somthing to get that going so i am leaning towards the reveg option.

Its hard to find fault with doing nothing special haha. I suppose I would have the space to grow them out for the month in smaller pots find the males then transplant if needed. Thanks for the reply.

This is a great way to go about regs. I top my regs after about 3 weeks and flower the cutting. Its pretty fast and no reveg after. Some people are very good at it I'm not a fan of the reveg

I have heard that some plants are tricky like that hopefully not these. I have been looking to try my hand at clones so maybe will give this a try. You pull anthing niceee off a flowered clone?

I've noticed a revegged plant also just hard to clone but again some are good at it. I like the healthy mother I get by sexing by cloning

About a half pound per plant, harvesting two plants every five weeks. I veg for eight weeks. 1000W HPS in a 4x4x6.5' tent.

So, yes, I do pretty well with clones. I don't run mothers for my perpetual production operation. Clones get cut from the veg plants after their third week in veg.

Normally just get a nice nug to try out but in my case they are kinda young so if its pretty good I know mom is better. Solid way to judge

Nice I just got set up to do a perpetual photo grow now. Very happy can toss autos along with mothers and clones

Honestly, I've never had any issues with cloning a reveg plant, and overall, they do just as well as non-reveg plants. It's just when I'm trying to isolate plant behaviour for testing/breeding purposes, I don't want the look of reveg.

If I'm just growing and not studying them, reveg plants are fine.

I have a hps at my buddies place those are my fav. Just led at my house he has bigger pockets for the electric lol
